Courtyard Craft Markets

Walford Mill boasts a beautiful courtyard that sits in front of the Mill’s main entrance and alongside the river Allen, one of Europe’s purest wild chalk rivers. The courtyard is used today for a variety of events as well as being an outdoor space for visitors to relax, sit and enjoy a refreshment from the onsite café.

The Mill’s grounds have welcomed craft markets, musical and theatrical events, creative makers outdoor workshops, fitness classes, and much more over the years, and are also available to rent (through an approved application process). Monthly markets are now held every second Saturday of the Month, musical events are often held into the early evening with refreshments provided by the on-site café and the popular Christmas Markets are always bustling with shoppers looking to support local makers and soak up the atmosphere.

For individuals or makers who wish to teach in an outside space, e.g Yoga/fitness, or working with organic materials that create offcuts such as wood, reeds etc, the outdoor lesson rental is a great alternative for hosting a class, whilst enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

The Mill offers rental space within the courtyard as follows:

Single Pitch 3M by 3M pitch - £25 per day

Double pitch - £45 per day

Entire surrounding courtyard rental - £ 150 per day (To sit on the outer perimeter of the Courtyard, and to take place alongside day to day use of the seating space for Mill and Café)
