Tiggy Rawling

Tiggy's work is textile based, inspired by her visits to India. There she spent time with dyers, weavers and printers, to gain an understanding of their craft, and falling under spell of the bright, bold colours, textures and patterns in common use.

She uses a variety of natural fabrics, which are dyed, painted or screen printed in jewel-like colours.

During the warm summer months Tiggy can set up her indigo vat. Fabric is patterned using Japanese Shibori techniques, from stitched resist to pole ole wrapping.

The resultant fabrics are made into quilts, small hangings, wearables or soft furnishings.
