Gemma Wheeler Pattern and texture feature highly through out Gemma's work. She enjoys manipulating the surface of the silver through the chemical process of etching. The textures are defined through various surface finishes, which enhance the effect created by etching. The inspirations Gemma has for her silversmithing consist of combining thought and creativity. She enjoys the challenges of the design process and the development from paper to three-dimensional form, combining function with decoration to create a purposeful aesthetic for the table. Gemma's jewellery ranges incorporate the etched silver and wire, emphasizing the pattern through the design, transforming the look of a typical ring through twisting and bending to create three-dimensional forms.
